Library Programs in July
- Storybook Trails—Join John DeBoer for a program based on the book ‘Dinner Party for the Birds’ on Tuesday, July 5th at 1:00 p.m. John is from the Miami County Parks District and will talk about how birds speak, what they eat, etc. This program, for all ages, is fun for the kids and informative for the adults.
- Picasso Drawing Class—Wednesday, July 13th at 10:30 a.m., Melissa Wolfe will be teaching art Picasso's way. Children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade can join her for a fun class and leave with their very own piece of Picasso like artwork. No registration needed.
- Bike Safety Day—With the help of the local police department, we will be having a bike safety day on Monday, July 25th at 11:00 a.m. in the library parking lot. Kids will have the opportunity to practice their bike skills, talk with an officer about safety on the road while riding their bikes, and play some fun bicycle safety games. Bring your bike and join us for the fun!
- LEGO Group—The last Monday of the month, July 25th from 3:15—4:00 p.m. is our next LEGO Group. Bring a friend, as well as your imaginations, and join us for some LEGO building fun!
UVMC Wellness Nurse
The Upper Valley Wellness Nurse will visit the library Tuesday, July12th for free blood pressure and glucose screenings. She will be here from 9:00-10:45 a.m.
Thank You to Our Donors
At the end of July we will be ending our Summer Reading Programs. We would like to thank Jumpy’s, Miami County Fair, King’s Island, COSI, Vandalia Rec Center, Newport Aquarium, Scene 75 and Cincinnati Zoo for donating vouchers or tickets to be awarded as prizes at our ending parties. We would also like to thank the Covington Eagles and Covington Kiwanis for their monetary donation which goes towards additional prizes and goodie bags for our Children’s Reading Program.
